I moved to Madison, WI with my husband who got his PhD there and I was a nanny and preschool teacher there. When he graduated, we moved to Denver. I worked at Swedish Medical Center's preschool until 2000. I work full time at a University and simply miss the kiddo energy. I'm looking to pick up part time opportunities to return to the caregiver role I love so much. I've worked with infants through 4th grade. I only work part time in the summer so im looking for some part time work or occasional work as well :) I have worked with kids for 10+ years now doing babysitting and nannying and have also worked in a daycare for 3+ years with infants -5 year olds. I grew up in a single parent home and helped care for my brother, who’s three years younger, and my sister who is 7 years younger than me. I started sitting for families throughout middle and high school, sometimes tutoring those children as well during my sitting sessions. From college and beyond, I have worked for many families and with children ranging from 3 months to 16 years old. I have 15+ years experience in babysitting. My passion for child care first started at a young age while my mother provided daycare in our home, taking care of children from the age of 6 weeks old to Pre-k age. As a result of that experience I became skilled in taking care of infants to toddlers. Later on out of high school I was an after-school teacher at my local elementary school. When I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 22 I developed a passion and resources to go abroad and work with children over seas. I traveled to Colombia, and the Amazon where I volunteered with organizations teaching art as a form of therapy to under privileged children. And my favorite experience was Au-pairing for an incredible family in Mallorca, Spain and teaching English at their academy. My most recent nanny experience has been with my close friends daughter, I had been her nanny since birth to 13 months old, and currently as needed. Children bring my heart pure joy. Watching them develop and learn and discover is such an amazing thing to be apart of. And to be partially responsible for the type of person that a child will grow into is something I cherish dearly. Outside of nannying I own my own all natural cleaning business and I am a visual artist participating in local events and markets and sell my art and handmade goods in local boutiques.
