I have over 8 years of child care experience from being a camp counselor through my towns parks and rec department, to tutoring the sciences at Huntington Learning Center. For 5 years I worked as a camp counselor with infants to middle school aged kids. I have experience as a full time nanny and routine babysitting with numerous families! As a childcare worker for over a decade I started off working in Windsor Public Schools as a Before/After School Program Leader along with working as a STEM teacher in summer camp. Next I worked in daycares as both a Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher and as Floating Teacher. Most recently I was a Math/Reading Interventionist, giving individualized and small group instruction to children struggling academically. I also have experience with special needs children and providing ABA play-based therapy to children with autism. Although I’ve had many different roles in the early childhood field, the times where I feel most fulfilled are when a family reaches out to me and entrusts me with the responsibility of caring for their children in their home. Hello! My name is Katrina, and I am 24 years old. My passion for childcare began early—during high school, where every senior was paired with a kindergartener to mentor and support. Through daily check-ins and weekly lunches, I discovered how much I loved helping young minds learn and grow. After graduation, I began working at a daycare, where I gained 4.5 years of hands-on experience with children of all ages. During my first year and a half, I rotated between classrooms to build experience with different age groups before becoming the head teacher of the infant room. In that role, I developed valuable skills in infant care, early development, and creating a nurturing, structured environment. In January 2024, I transitioned into private nannying for a family with two boys—an infant (2 months) and a toddler (3 years old). I was a nanny when I first graduated highschool for about a year and a a half, working with a 3 and 5 year old. I then went to work at Brightpath in Avon, CT. Worked there for about 3 1/2 years. Had amazing relationships with the families and kids. I worked mainly in the one year - two year old range, and would occasionally help with infants. The job was so amazing and rewarding, I still keep in touch with many families and babysit from time to time. I love spending any free time I have with kids, but would really love to become full time again, and help a good family.
