Hi there! My name is Mykhala, and I am very outgoing and caring individual with such a soft spot for children!! I've spent over 12 years working in VPK, Headstart, and daycare programs. I am very patient, and love nurturing and caring for young children. I am certified in infant and child CPR and first aid, and I also have my CDA. I also have experience with children who have autism, and other special needs. I am someone who is understanding, calm, empathetic, and able to provide children the opportunity to build a relationship with their world, to think and most importantly, think for themselves. I began working on my CDA as a highschool Freshman, and obtained my RBT credential in 2021. Nurturing children, creating positive relationships with them, and it’s something I’ve always enjoyed. My approach is more hands on, promoting the exploration of the world through the senses. I believe everything can be used as a teachable moment to teach an important skill for both students and educators. Children need to feel supported by their caregivers in order to feel comfortable enough to explore what the world has to offer. To ensure I am the most effective educator I can be, it is my responsibility to be familiar with Developmentally Appropriate Practices for the age group I’m working with, keeping up with my education and training, and learning from my own students to be more than a great educator, but an evolving one. My students teach me how to be adaptable, and inclusive, being that no child is the same, but they all deserve the same care. As an educator, I continue to learn everyday.
