I am a mom to 6 grown children. I am also a former elementary PE teacher and middle school coach. When caring for babies cuddling, singing, and reading is a fun way to spend awake times. I know that toddlers and big kids want to stay active and busy! Things I love- being outside, going on nature walks, bike rides and back yard explorations, finding frogs and lizards and making collections of beautiful leaves and rocks. I love birds, throwing baseball, shooting basketball, kicking soccer balls, throwing frisbees and footballs, jumping rope and coloring with side walk chalk. While inside coloring, playing with play doh and reading are my favorites. I enjoy sitting along side as legos or other sorts of creations are developed. I am an undefeated candy land opponent :). I am interested in part time jobs, covering for date nights, one time stays and possibly occasional overnights. Pets are fine with me.

Hello, my name is Shayla Selon. I am a 22-year-old college student attending the university of Georgia studying to become a speech-language pathologist, or an audiologist. In both children and adults I am CPR, first aid, and AED certified with Red Cross. I am a fun, playful, lovable young adult, who loves interacting with kids and has been told she has a great connection of children. My experience comes from shadowing and helping my grandma babysit my sister and cousins over the summer since I was 12 to 18. During my sophomore and junior of high school, I was in an early education class where there was a daycare with 2 to 4 years old I would interact with them three days a week. We would do different activities with them For example, we would go on the go outside on the playground, make art projects, helped them with their ABCs and counting. Since joining the site, parents have trusted me to watch their Two and four year old siblings. Occasionally, I also watch sisters that are five and 10 years old. Most recently I’ve been trusted take care of a six month old for the day and the allowed me to bring her to my apartment since the grandmother was at work, and the mother was traveling. I love the way their minds work. They are so smart and so intelligent at such a young age is very interesting. I will care and look after your children as if they are my own. I will actively report if anything happens and would love to be known of any allergies or any fears that they may have that prevent them from having good time under my care. I love babysitting because of two reasons, the first of which being that I love kids. The second is that I want people to feel safe with the person they leave their kids with, and I want to be able to be that person. I can clean, cook, care for pets, and drive (carefully). I began my babysitting journey at 15, caring for two wonderful children during their parents' date night. Now at 20, I'm pursuing pre-med at the University of Georgia, inspired by my passion for working with children, especially those with special needs.
