Hello, I am a 23 year old currently in college for culinary arts. I have been taking care of children since I was 9, when my first niece was welcomed into the world. Since then, I've had the pleasure of caring for 8 more nieces/nephews along with countless other children, mostly below 10 but recently I've been studying techniques to be an effective tutor as well, in order to teach children in a way that helps them to retain and understand knowledge on important subjects, rather than telling me the answer to a question without knowing why it is the answer. Through my experiences and own work, I have obtained years worth of skills and training in areas such as infant care, childcare, cooking, housekeeping, event planning, all of which I have been doing unofficially for at least a decade now (with the exception of event planning) and officially for about 2 years. I love being a sitter because I get to make a positive impact on and form lifelong relationships with the next generation of adults, a lot of which will take the experiences they have in childhood with them throughout their whole lives. I also just enjoy interacting with them in general, their wondrous spirits and carefree attitudes are something that almost never fails to put a smile on my face, among other things. I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Biology and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Biomedical Sciences. During the week, I work as a dental assistant, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field as I prepare to apply to dental school, where I plan to specialize in pediatric dentistry. From 2014 to 2024, my mother owned a dance studio, where I taught competitive dance and led classes for girls ages 5 to 18. This experience sparked my passion for working with children and helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills. I’ve also worked as a summer camp instructor and served as a STEM teacher for underprivileged students in the Atlanta Public Schools system, teaching science-based activities to students needing extra academic support. I worked as a summer camp counselor in the years of 2016-2019 as well as this past summer of 2024.
