I recently relocated to Kihei/Wailea area, Maui, full time last year, (after visiting for over 2 decades & with family on Kaua'i). I have many, MANY years of experience caring for & spending time with children (beginning in my teens, when I was the neighborhood babysitter). I have been a nanny off/on for the past 2 decades for various families, while I was also raising my (now grown) son, so I am also a mom. I prefer to keep kids active and engaged (minimal to no screen time, if possible). I believe in getting kids outside & interacting in nature. I like to encourage making art, creating crafts, playing board games, reading stories, and going on little adventures in town. My experience spans all ages, from newborns to toddlers, school age & teens. In my free time, I am also a plant-based/holistic chef and an organizer. I enjoy learning about Hawaiian tradition & culture, being in or near the ocean, snorkle, SCUBA, yoga, riding my bike, gardening, (growing herbs, veggies & flowers), creating with clay/pottery, reading, world travel. I grew up as the eldest child in a large family. From a young age I was babysitting my younger siblings regularly. Friends of my parents noticed I had a knack for it and that I was intuitively good with children so I then started to be hired for the occasional babysitting job. I've worked with infants as well as older children. I am first aid and cpr certified. I am currently enrolled in school for classical realism painting so I can teach advanced art skills to older children. I also am very active and love being outside. I cook good nutritious meals. And most importantly I love having fun and communicating with children. I also enjoy the caretaking of younger children that involves feeding, changing, and cleaning etc. It is something that comes naturally to me and I like knowing I am doing something good for another human being in this world.

I got my state-certified educator degree and my Bachelor in social work in Germany and I worked in a preschool (kids age 2-6) for over 6 years. I grew up in a big family (5 siblings and lots of cousins) what lead me to my job as a preschool teacher. I have lots of experience with kids different ages and love supporting and attending them to become an independent and confident person. I’m patent and calm but also energetic and adventurous. During my day job, I work as an independent contractor on public health (mainly nutrition) international development projects, primarily implemented in Sub Saharan Africa. I have always loved looking after children. I love the joy and curiosity they bring to the everyday. I have been surrounded by kids my whole life — I have three young cousins (who are all grown up teens now!) and three young nieces (the youngest of which was born in June!); I have been in an “aunty” role since I was 8 years old! I have spent summers nannying both family members and for clients, and have experience as an after school camp and YMCA day camp counselor. I am happy to (and enjoy) pick up spaces, cook, and kind take on a more well rounded support role in the household.
