It is a company based out of valpo that helps adults and children with special needs. I work on the DD Side(developmental disabled) as a Direct Support Professional. I have been with the company since March 3,2011. I love my job and I do not plan on leaving it anytime soon. I have great references and have amazing patience with kids and babies!! Especially colicky ones. I am also CPR Certified and I have a valid license with a good record, can pass a drug test and background checks. Normally I work evenings and weekends and stay home with my 2 year old and my husband works days then he watches the baby so i can work lol... I work 30 hours at a supported living site between friday(6pm) and Sunday (4pm) and I work on Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm to 9pm. My weekend clients that I work 30 hours for have behaviors and my other client that I work for just needs me to take her out shopping and get groceries and hang out and stuff of that nature. So I can get more hours at the job I am at but they don't really have overtime to offer. My husband is going in for surgery may 24th to have double hernia surgery so he will be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks. I really need another job in doing something that I love. I am very reliable I love spending time with my kids and it may sound strange that I am applying for a job to take care of other peoples kids but its something I am good at So please do not get the wrong impression of me because the truth is if I could I would be at home with my kids and not have to work I would treat your children as if they were my own kids and I think I am a great mother Please give me a chance As far as pay goes I am very fair... I’ve been around childcare my entire life. My parents owned a childcare center in the 90s and brought it to Indiana in the early 2000s, so growing up I was always surrounded by children of all ages. Because of that, I learned early on how to help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. I officially started assisting in the childcare setting at age 13, helping with daily routines, meals, activities, and supervision. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with feeding, hygiene, engaging children in developmental activities, keeping them safe, and understanding different behaviors and needs.
