Hello, my name is Kailey Dobson and I am a junior at the University of Kentucky. Although I am seeking a degree in English, I have always enjoyed working with and being in the company of children. As an older sister, aunt, and former preschool teacher, I have found that I have missed being around children. I miss playing with them, laughing with them, and most of all, helping them learn and witnessing their progress. I worked as a classroom assistant a preschool and have also babysat since I was in my early teens.

I’m a recent college graduate with a degree in psychology looking for a full-time nanny position while I take a year off and then start online masters classes. With about 6 years of paid childcare experience, I’ve developed a strong foundation in caring for children of all ages, particularly infants and toddlers. I’m passionate about child development and love creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where kids can grow and thrive. My background in psychology also gives me a thoughtful and informed approach to supporting children's emotional and developmental needs. I’m reliable, patient, and energetic, and I can’t wait to connect with you and your family!

Graduated in 1994 with AGS (Assistant Group Supervisor certification, which is basically a associates degree in Child Care/Development). Raised 4 children 20,17 and 15 and 6 yr.old. Worked at the Y.WC.A in infants thru school age while in high school. Hired on after graduation full time. Had to write lesson plans for different age groups. Could be Assistant Group Supervisor at a daycare center.

Hello! My name is Katie, and I am the mother to two grown children — a girl and a boy — and have most recently been working as an instructor for an after-school program that operated in conjunction with New Albany grade-schools (I’d love to continue, but their funding for the 25/26 school year did not come through). I particularly enjoy working with children who are endowed with a surplus of curiosity and varied interests, especially the ones with a healthy sense of humor. I do especially well with kids who are enthusiastic about learning and doing new things, but are perhaps a little socially awkward and haven’t quite hit their stride in external socializing. I find a particular joy in encouraging kids to explore new hobbies, look at things from varied perspectives, and problem-solve. Additionally, I’m an animal lover, and open to helping care for pets while sitting with kids. At one time or another, I've owned and cared for: cats, dogs (large breed, small, and everything in between - we adore our pups), rabbits, a horse, chickens (24 at one point!), ducks, and guineas. If your children enjoy creating in the kitchen, I’m more than happy to help introduce them to basic cooking skills appropriate for their age. I encouraged and taught both of my own children to cook from a very young age, and apparently did a decent job of it, as currently one is employed as a baker, and the other is in restaurant management. As far as homework help goes, I’m particularly familiar with the verbal arts (I come from a family with at least one - often more - librarian or English teacher in all of the past five generations), and have a deep love of history and science. I am adequate in helping with school math up through the middle grades, though I’m much better when it comes to explaining practical mathematics for application in the everyday “real world” than I am with more advanced formulas and theoreticals. My primary availability is in the afternoons, but I am also open to accepting the occasional evening booking, to give parents coverage for date nights and evening events.

I love being around kids and I have experience with multiple children of all ages. I come from a larger family where I have 3 younger brothers ages from 6-2, so I have been around young children for my teenage and early adult years.

They say when you get older you only learn from those that are wiser and older than you, but I have learned that working with children is a blessing in disguise because you are always learning with children. I have been a sitter for about two years when I was back at college for my church. I have no issues with children and I am so good at bonding with the children. I love to cook, and meal prep so if the children ever need snacks I am always up to learning new ideas to prep for them.

With over 8 years of professional care experience I am dedicated to your child’s development and safety. I know that child care looks different in every home and I am committed to creating and instilling your image of what child care looks like in your home. I have a bachelors degree in general studies with a focus in natural science and a minor in psychology. I have worked as a private nanny for 5 years, have 1.5 years experience in a daycare setting and have babysit for over 8 years. I love the outdoors, especially the water. I have been certified in lifeguarding in years past, coaching a middle school swim team and have also taught private swim lessons. I currently hold valid CPR and first aid certifications.
