Hi Mommas and Dados! Thank you for taking a look at my profile :) Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I have worked as a swimming coach, caregiver in daycares, a nanny, a mental health specialist and a child mental health therapist. I love helping children navigate this world in a peaceful environment so they may find their unique path. I am also pursuing a business in reiki to help people heal their body, mind, and spirit.

I have extensive experience caring for kids of all ages, especially toddlers, and I also have a background in education and language teaching. I’m a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), with experience supporting children with special needs through evidence-based strategies. I love doing crafts, reading stories, and engaging in creative play. I’m also comfortable with light housekeeping and meal prep. I’m CPR certified, have a valid driver’s license, and always prioritize safety and communication. Feel free to reach out with any questions — I’d be happy to connect!

My name is Dakota, and I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire, near Boston. I’ve been working with children since the day I could remember. I’ve always loved the joy children give when they get so excited. In 2023 I moved to Florida to cut the long distance with my husband and be closer to him and even closer to the family I had down there. I loved going to the beach and having the warm weather every day, but soon realized that’s not where I want to raise my future family. We decided to come closer to his family who is from Northern Kentucky, but still have that city feel. I’m excited where this new adventure will take us. I started my childcare journey as a “babysitter” at my local church in New Hampshire. When I was 13(ages 1-5). I then volunteered (not getting paid) at an elementary school for an after-school program for a year. I got hired to work all throughout high school (14-18). ages (5-12). After I graduated high school, I was working at a preschool as the 1-year-old teacher while taking classes to get my degree in Early Childhood Education. (on pause right now with classes but will be taking virtual classes in the future). I worked there for about 2 years then worked as a nanny for a 5-month-old. I was feeding, changing, putting down for naps and doing lots of activities. Then I moved to Florida and started working as a 2-year-old teacher at a private school, worked there for 5 months and decided nannying was what I wanted to do. I found a family and was with them for almost a year, she was five years old! I picked her up from school, bring her to actives she has for that day if she doesn’t have anything we’ll go to the park or do an activity if it’s nice outside! then go back home do some educational workbooks or a craft. cook dinner, do bath and put to bed! Now I have moved to Lexington Kentucky with my Husband to be closer to his family. I’m excited to see where this new adventure goes! I think what makes me a great babysitter/ nanny is that I’m always prepared for what’s to come. I’ve worked with every age possible in different settings. I’ve been in the classroom in public school, in a private school, daycares and being a nanny staying at someone’s house. I’m always ready for the next activity, I always have different activities and crafts planned out and ready to go!

I recently moved to Kentucky from Indiana. I have two children ages 24and 22. Both were exceptional children in school, were Honor Roll students. I love being a mom! I ran a cleaning business in Indianapolis for 20 years part time so I could be home with them as much as possible. All of my clients loved me and we became family. I always try to go above and beyond what is asked. I believe kids should be given structure but also be allowed freedom to explore the world. I loved taking my kids outside and allowing them to use their imaginations. I am CPR certified and have my CDA certification I am also fine with doing household chores, light meal prep, etc during nap time etc so that I stay busy and to help the family out.
