Hi, my name is Valerie and I am interested in part-time childcare work. I am a mom of 5 Vikings ( as my husband and I call them). My two oldest have moved out, and I have 2 in High School and 1 in Community College. I have been a stay-at-home mom for (most of) 23 yrs. I started following my kids to school, and volunteering in classrooms until the school finally hired me! When I realized that my kids would rather be with their friends I decided it was time to get out of the house. My neighbor agreed and offered me up as a nanny for friends of hers. I obtained my CPR certification and accepted a temporary Nanny position, part-time, for an infant. I so enjoyed my time with a little again! My position ended when circumstances changed and the family moved from the area. Since that first job, I’ve had a family in town for two days for work and hired me to care for their infant for a few days. Then two very lovely families who each only needed me part of the week became my primary jobs and kept my schedule full. Then it happened. A job offer for Husband, in Michigan. Since we are originally from Michigan, we made the very difficult decision to move. Yay Husband. Bummer to leave the families I had been a part of. Pre-Husband and Vikings, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science at Central Michigan University. Being a bit of a wanderer, I found myself in Chicago working at an Ad Agency! My family and I moved to Greensboro about 8yrs ago, and loved having both mountains and Ocean available for our adventures. However, the never ending heat and humidity will not be missed. I enjoy getting outdoors daily, and perhaps it’s the Earth Science background, but I love taking the little ones outside and introducing them to the trees, flowers, birds, whatever we come across. Kids are such natural sponges, they soak it all in. Having the opportunity to smell or touch or hold something greatly improves their understanding of their environment.

I enjoy working with kid, I’ve been working at a before and after care for an elementary school. I am somewhat new to Child Care although it gives me experiences for the career I want to pursue. I am CPR certified/First Aid, bilingual in Spanish etc. In my senior year of high school I took a class to help a teacher out and see what it looks like behind a teacher's lens. I coached rec gymnastics for ages 3-10 and enjoyed working and see the kids improve. I am really excited to bring my passion out and hopefully build connections with kids. Wanting to gain experience but also supporting your families needs :)!

Hello! My name is Mikayla Warner. I have been working with kids my whole life but started actually getting paid for it when I was 15. Growing up with 3 younger siblings, I learned from a young age how to navigate through many different situations. I have 3 Associate Degrees in Criminal Justice, Occupational Studies, and Liberal Arts. I'm 25 years old & married, and while I don't have any kids of my own yet, my husband's family is quite large so I have over 20 nieces and nephews ranging from all ages. I have built individual bonds and gained trust with each of them, including the ones who were older (9-14) and love each as if they are my own. I have worked at multiple daycare centers, nannied for a couple different families, am certified in first aid, CPR, and was raised by not one but two police officers so I always pay attention to my surroundings.
