Hi, my name is Valerie and I am interested in part-time childcare work. I am a mom of 5 Vikings ( as my husband and I call them). My two oldest have moved out, and I have 2 in High School and 1 in Community College. I have been a stay-at-home mom for (most of) 23 yrs. I started following my kids to school, and volunteering in classrooms until the school finally hired me! When I realized that my kids would rather be with their friends I decided it was time to get out of the house. My neighbor agreed and offered me up as a nanny for friends of hers. I obtained my CPR certification and accepted a temporary Nanny position, part-time, for an infant. I so enjoyed my time with a little again! My position ended when circumstances changed and the family moved from the area. Since that first job, I’ve had a family in town for two days for work and hired me to care for their infant for a few days. Then two very lovely families who each only needed me part of the week became my primary jobs and kept my schedule full. Then it happened. A job offer for Husband, in Michigan. Since we are originally from Michigan, we made the very difficult decision to move. Yay Husband. Bummer to leave the families I had been a part of. Pre-Husband and Vikings, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science at Central Michigan University. Being a bit of a wanderer, I found myself in Chicago working at an Ad Agency! My family and I moved to Greensboro about 8yrs ago, and loved having both mountains and Ocean available for our adventures. However, the never ending heat and humidity will not be missed. I enjoy getting outdoors daily, and perhaps it’s the Earth Science background, but I love taking the little ones outside and introducing them to the trees, flowers, birds, whatever we come across. Kids are such natural sponges, they soak it all in. Having the opportunity to smell or touch or hold something greatly improves their understanding of their environment.

Valerie has been AMAZING! We've been lucky to have her services for about 12 hours a week for the past year. She has beautifully cared for, taught and loved on our now 1.5 year-old son (who just adores her) while my wife and I both worked from home... as well as occasionally our now 4 year-old daughter (who also adores her!). Additionally, Valerie would support our child-care needs for weekends-away, sick-days etc. Valerie brought such love and attention to our kiddos, their evolving allergy needs and eagerly took them outside for daily walks and exploration. She has been a true gift. We are so sad that Valerie will be moving away, even though our youngest is starting school in the fall, we always hoped to continue relying on Valerie for her wonderful care of our young family. We hold her in the highest regard, and future families would be lucky to have Valerie as part of their child-raising village.

I am an loving and responsible mother of a beautiful young lady. I have over 40 years experience caring for children in private homes and in licensed day care centers. I successfully raised my daughter alone. She is now a college graduate and is employed in her field of study. I also have over 30 years as a cook/chef, both privately and in day cares, hospitals, hotels, and senior living centers. I also have creative and artistic talent, which in the past has helped with not just school projects, homework, but also with activities to help to build a child's imagination. I enjoy cooking, sports, playing games, reading and arts and crafts.

Maureen was absolutely incredible with our girls! I have a 2 year old and 3 month old and she was able to watch them throughout a long weekend when we had numerous events to attend. My 2yr old is quite active and energetic and Maureen kept up with entertaining her amazingly. She also was so kind and sweet with my littlest one. It was such a piece of mind to have her as our sitter while we were on our trip and she truly treated them like family.

We loved Nancy! She was very friendly and engaging with my daughter. She gave her tons of attention and by the end of the day I'm pretty sure she liked Nancy more that me :) Thanks for helping us out last minute!

Absolutely Outstanding Nanny! We have been truly blessed to have Gabrielle (Gabby) as our son’s nanny for the past year, and it’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye. From day one, Gabby has been an absolute rockstar — always on time, every single day, without fail. Her reliability gave us complete peace of mind as working parents. Gabby communicated beautifully with us and showed wonderful initiative whenever our now 4-year-old was having a tough moment. Whether it was a meltdown, a tricky behavior phase, or just needing a little extra patience and creativity, she jumped in with kindness, problem-solving, and a huge heart. She didn’t just watch our son — she truly cared for him, helped him grow, and made every afternoon brighter. Gabby quickly became a trusted, loved member of our family. We will miss her warm smile, her energy, and the joy she brought into our home every single day. Gabby, congratulations on your next exciting chapter — you deserve all the best! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you’ve poured into our son and our family this past year. You made a real, lasting difference, and we will never forget it. We will miss you so much! We would recommend Gabrielle to any family in a heartbeat — she is truly one of the best. 5 stars doesn’t even feel like enough!

Hi! I’m Kendyle, a student at the University of Michigan with 8 years of babysitting experience. I started babysitting when I was 11, riding my bike to care for five kids down the street ranging in age from 1 month to 9 years old. Since then, I’ve worked with over 15 families and truly enjoy building connections with kids and watching them grow. I’ve cared for children of all ages and have experience watching up to 8 kids on my own. I’m certified in babysitting and CPR, and I’ve also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, which has given me even more experience working with children in a safe and structured setting. In addition to childcare, I’ve also tutored kids and can help with homework when needed. I’m reliable, patient, and always happy to lend a hand. I’d love the opportunity to care for and support your family!

Moriah has been one of our children’s sitters for years! She is an excellent choice to watch your children. She is reliable, kind and energetic. She took the time to really get to know our children so that each time they are together is memorable and fun. She is always quick to respond to messages and keeps us up to date when watching the kids. She is respectful of our guidelines for the kids activities, food choices and discipline. She is our go too and the kids are disappointed when she isn’t available.

Dian was an exceptional nanny for my son, Miles, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is incredibly trustworthy and reliable, always showing up on time and ready to engage. More than just a caregiver, Dian truly became a part of our family, treating Miles with the same love and care as she would her own children. With over 30 years of experience as a teacher in the Birmingham school district, she brings a wealth of knowledge, patience, and understanding, making her a natural educator as well as a caregiver. Dian has raised three wonderful children of her own, and her nurturing, positive influence was evident every day. She knows instinctively how to balance fun with structure—you won’t need to remind her about limiting screen time, encouraging outdoor play, or teaching self-reliance and chores; she integrates these values seamlessly. Dian's creativity shines through in everything she does, from organizing sports activities, bike rides, arts and crafts, to finding engaging new ways to keep Miles learning and growing. She often went above and beyond, planning special outings after school if my work schedule required it. Whether it was a local event, a museum, or a new park to explore, Dian always ensured Miles had meaningful, enriching experiences. We miss having her around on a daily basis and still keep in touch, as she truly became a cherished part of our lives. Unfortunately, due to financial changes, we could no longer retain her services, which was a great loss for us. If she is still available, consider yourself lucky—Dian is an incredible catch. Her wealth of experience, genuine care, and proactive, creative approach make her the perfect nanny for any family.

I have a love of children from growing up in a big family and being the oldest. Kids bring lots of happiness and make life more of an adventure. I like to make a difference and show the kids that we can always have fun and learn lots of new things. I have been working in daycares since 2018 and started nannying in December of 2022. I’m also CPR and first aid certified. I worked with newborns up to 10 year olds mostly but more than comfortable with older children. I like to do arts and crafts and be outside as much as possible. I’ve done potty training and know also work to teach sign language!

Hi! My name is Nathan, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Michigan in the School of Music studying Jazz and Contemplative Studies originally from Boston, MA. I’ve spent the last four years working as a certified lifeguard and the last three years coaching youth swim, so I have a lot of experience working with kids of all different ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’m also certified in First Aid and CPR, and I take safety, responsibility, and trust very seriously while still making sure kids feel comfortable, supported, and able to have fun. I’m dependable, patient, and very used to staying calm in busy or high-energy situations. Whether I’m supervising activities, helping with routines, keeping kids on schedule, or making sure rules are followed, I try to create an environment that feels safe, positive, and engaging without feeling overly strict. I’m also happy to help with homework. I can help kids stay focused, work through assignments, review directions, and make sure schoolwork gets done before moving on to something more fun. I know how important it is to balance structure with encouragement, especially when kids are tired, distracted, or just need someone patient to sit with them and help them get started. As a musician, I love bringing creativity into babysitting when kids are interested. That could mean making up silly songs, playing rhythm games, introducing them to instruments, having a dance break, or finding fun ways to make music part of the day. I also enjoy cooking and would be happy to help with meals or snacks. I especially like turning cooking into a fun activity, whether that means making simple recipes together, letting kids help with safe steps, or coming up with fun snack ideas. Overall, I love creating activities that are creative, active, and hands-on, whether that’s music, cooking, games, outdoor play, arts and crafts, homework support, or whatever the kids are excited about that day. I like to say I was part of the last couple years that did not rely so heavily on screens for entertainment, so I’m very pro arts and crafts, imagination, and activities that let kids experience the kind of creative, hands-on fun I grew up with.
