Hi! My name is Karen Barrett, but I go by KC. I am a 20 year old female, and a remote college student studying psychology to go into child development. I am the oldest of 9 grandchildren, so I have much experience with children from the age 1-12! In my spare time I enjoy playing golf as well as soccer. I am a mature, trustworthy nanny with 5 years of childcare experience. I have worked for a police officer and his wife, taking care of their two little girls, one was 3 months and the other was 5 years old. Our agreement was for me to see the 5 year old through kindergarten and when the baby was a year she would go to the same daycare her big sister went to. I prepared breakfast, for both children and took the oldest to school, as well as, picked her up. During the day I played with the baby on the floor, read books to her and worked with her on My Baby Can Read, Baby Sign Language and other educational materials. I worked with her on how to roll over, crawl, and encouraged her to take her first step. I have also taught her to say several words. After picking up the 5 year old from school, I prepared her snacks and played games with her. If requested I helped her with her homework and saw to her practicing piano. I read books to her and we had many discussions regarding her day and her great ideas! I love children tremendously and have grown to love these adorable little girls. This family also had a dog that stayed in the home with me during the day. I loved her too! I left the family when the baby was placed in daycare when she became a year. This is a wonderful family and this was a wonderful experience. We still keep in touch. I recently worked for a lawyer and his wife. I started when their child was 3 months and stopped when he was 6 months. This is a nice family and the baby is absolutely adorable. A very sweet baby. However, I was working 50 hours per week and I am looking for something with fewer hours. I also care for the dogs in this household. I am very interested in knowing the exact hours that you will need someone. I am very trustworthy, mature and have a great deal of integrity. I adore children and love taking care of them.
