I also volunteered each week with the ESE department children at West Pensacola Elementary in Florida. I am now employed full time in the Children and Family Services field in Buncombe County. I have worked in the children and family services field in North Carolina and Florida for the past 16 years. I have always enjoyed working with children and their families. :)

I have been a teacher for 12 years at a private preschool in Vero Beach Florida and I have taught children from ages 2 to 5. I have also had the opportunity to work with children with disabilities and children on the spectrum. I am moving to Asheville so that my daughter can attend UNC for the next four years! I will be available to start working July 1st. I also have been a nanny for the last 6 years to a little boy who is now eight. I am with him after he arrives home from school everyday. We go over homework, read many books and I let him choose any activities he wants to do with me. We play a lot of sports, imaginative and make believe games together. During the summer months when he is not in school I make his lunch, take him to his sporting events, go over any lessons he needs to work on, bike ride, art activities, free play, read with him and bathe him and get him ready for dinner. I have also babysat for a family every Wednesday night for the last 5 years so the parents can have a date night. The children’s ages are 2,4,6,8 and 10. I also babysit several times a month for different families when I am called. I have been babysitting for over 12 years now. I have my CDA certification, am a member of NAEYC and I have my CPR/AED certification as well. I also maintain NAEYC hours and DCF hours every year through workshops and training courses. I am vaccinated and have my booster shot for Covid. I speak primarily English but can speak some Spanish as well. I love being a teacher, nanny and babysitter because although they are very different jobs from one another, the common denominator is that all of the children just want love, support and to feel safe. And I feel it is my job as an educator and advocate for children to provide them with a space where they are comfortable enough to express themselves.
