I absolutely adore connecting, caring for, and exploring with children! I am first aid and CPR certified. I have 4 years of experience with paid babysitting, as well as 15 years of experience watching kids of all ages (including infants) for family and friends. Last summer, I was a full time mountain bike camp counselor for 6-8 year olds, and it was such a rewarding experience to watch the kids learn and grow confidence in their abilities while maintaining safety as a top priority! I also have experience with children with developmental and/or physical disabilities. I have immense patience and meet children where they are. I am comfortable and have experience with animals of all sizes. I can cook, meal prep, clean, help with homework (I have a BA in Mathematics and Statistics), handle appointments, and I have my own car with a good driving record. I became HRS (now Florida DCF) certified in high school many years ago in the OJT program and worked for three years as an assistant site director of the after school care program with Unique School Age Childcare and Noah's Ark nursery in the summer. Most recently, I was an Aquatic Educator for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and have been running an afterschool fishing club for kids in grades 3-8 and have been teaching families with children ages 5 & up how to fish. I have a BS in Biology and was Certified to teach Middle Grades and High School Science and I have a Master’s Degree in Education with the concentration in science. I taught in public schools and private schools and then started the education programs at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education for preK & up where I continued to work with outdoor education for kids until the flood in 2021. I have experience babysitting siblings, keeping them safe and engaged in activities, preparing snacks/meals, putting them down for nap/bed. I have done after school pick ups as well as driven kids to activities. I am good with pets. I have a dog and have kept one of my client’s dogs when they went out of town.
