I became HRS (now Florida DCF) certified in high school many years ago in the OJT program and worked for three years as an assistant site director of the after school care program with Unique School Age Childcare and Noah's Ark nursery in the summer. I also volunteered each week with the ESE department children at West Pensacola Elementary in Florida. I am now employed full time in the Children and Family Services field in Buncombe County. I have worked in the children and family services field in North Carolina and Florida for the past 16 years. I have always enjoyed working with children and their families. :)

I absolutely adore connecting, caring for, and exploring with children! I am first aid and CPR certified. I have been blessed with a lifetime of involvement with children. Having much older siblings, I was a child aunt. I have one son aged 33, plus helped raise a second child during his preschool years. I am a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant with training in childcare but not currently employed in healthcare. For the last 2 years I have been a nanny for 2 girls, now 4 months and 24 month. I've worked with kids in one way or another since 2008. My main reason for making myself available on this platform is to help parents of children with special needs find reliable, worry-free child care. Having worked in the Behavioral Therapy (ABA) world for over a decade, I know how hard it can be to find child care for a kiddo with atypical behaviors; and that it's against the rules for most companies who provide therapy services to also provide babysitting. My experience includes: Autism, ADHD, ODD, Down Syndrome, OCD, anxiety, dyslexia, dysgraphia, aggression, sensory processing, deaf/hearing impaired, learning disabilities, and children in need of general behavioral shaping. I am a Certified Behavior Technician, semi-fluent in ASL (American sing language), NC Early Educator Certified, and CPR/First Aid trained. I currently work with kids on the spectrum and I thought it would be nice to offer families some relief in the sense of knowing they can leave their, not disabled, but differently able, children with an experienced caregiver. I am a mom of two and work in a local charter school. I foster meaningful engagement and healthy child development.
