I have been on and off babysitting for years of children of various ages, including being a live-in nanny for a few years. I engaged in various age-appropriate activities; I assisted in homeschooling, drove around multiple kids, and am very comfortable taking kids out of the house for various activities (with parental permission/request, of course). Throughout high school and the beginning of undergrad, I watched older kids (ages 8-12). Throughout undergrad, I was a nanny to twin girls (aged 2-5), and then was a live-in nanny to a little girl (age 1-3, who is now my godchild!). I just graduated law school, and have periodically babysat a 1 year old. I am currently studying for the bar exam, so although I have less free time nowadays, I perpetually miss interacting with and impacting young minds! Therefore, I can be flexible with scheduling for the time being, but also need to leave sufficient time for studying. Regarding pets - I grew up with a (relatively large) dog, and currently live on a property with numerous animals, so I’m happy to have pets around too! Hello, My name is Jessica I'm a young adult from the northern New England area! Ive grown up in a small town but with a big family, and have learned to become a caretaker along the way. I started babysitting and nannying early high school, doing date nights for my aunts and uncles, and becoming more regular. I then got a position as a daycare assistant working during summers, after school hours, vacations etc. I started in an infant age room, teaching, feeding, changing diapers, and scheduled nap times. I loved the infant age! Then I moved onto toddler/pre-school age, where I had a small classroom and would oversee the care of 3-5 children. After a couple months of working with that age group I moved into the school-age classroom with other teachers and assistants. Once I had gotten connected with families and siblings of the daycare, I had moved onto sticking with families and becoming a nanny. I had worked with two separate families from the daycare and cared for them for a little over two years. I had also become a member on Care.com to reach more families while finishing high school. Throughout nannying I had worked at a restaurant as a hostesses, busser, and food runner which gave me many skills I still use. I tried out Community College but it wasn't for me. I nannied another family with two children consistently for two and a half years before they went into preschool. I have assistant coached my local high school's cheerleading team as that is a passion of mine. And I currently and working at an Assisted Living home in New Hampshire, Its opened my eyes to a whole new level of caretaking and I'm learning so much through this experience its just not what I'd personally like to keep doing. I recently got my G.E.D and I'd love to find some full-time work, while also doing something that I love. I have babysat in years past for friends/family, I am very responsible, and patient, and I am not yet, but will be getting CPR and First Aid certified. My main goal is to have fun while strictly maintaining the child's safety. I am new to professional child care, but I have babysat for multiple families, age range from <1 year- 11 years old. I've helped cook, do homework, and clean up/motivate them to clean up. I would love to create a fun, safe, and supportive enviornment where I too can learn new skills, and help your family in whatever ways I can. My husband is a Senior Director of Sales for a petroleum company and has an office here but travels. All the time. My biggest baby is my 7 month old baby Great Dane. We have a 2 year old bulldog and tiny tiny 10 pound mix. I watch my three year old baby cousin during the school year but soon it will be her turn for preschool.
