I have recently become unemployed as a geologist and I have always had great experiences in the early childhood education field so I knew this would be my first alternative field outside of my degree. My childcare experience starts in 2007 after I graduated high school, I began working at the Elaine Rosi Academy for Children in St. Louis, Missouri as an Assistant Teacher. After 2 great years with great kids I moved on to the Goddard school for Early Childhood Development. I worked at these schools for almost 4 years while getting my associates degree. During my time in school I started taking primary childhood education classes though the sciences won in the end and I went on to get my B.S. in Geology from Missouri State University. Since graduating I have worked as Petroleum geologist until the 2014 downturn where I lost my job in early 2015. Again Read more I turned to childcare and worked as an in-home nanny for about six months before I found a job in my field as an Environmental Geologist. Now, I am again in a similar position and would like to return to field of work where I know that I excel. In my recent work as an Environmental Geologist I am required to receive safety training on a monthly basis. While most of these are related to safety in the field, I am also up to date on adult and infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training and Emergency Response Team (ERT) training as well as other safety training certifications.
