Samantha M., Child Care in Centerport, NY 11721 with 16 years of paid experience

My name is Samantha, My childcare experience includes almost 20 years of babysitting for children from newborns to teens, full time nannying, vacation nannying and babysitting, 2 years as a pre-k assistant teacher working with 4 and 5 yr olds, 2+ years of daycare experience working with primarily the young infants, 4 weeks to 1 year, and experience as a nanny with up to 3 children. I have experience with twins and larger families, and physical and mental disabilities. In addition I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2017, and am comfortable and trained in administration of CPR, first aid, Heimlich, can handle children with complex medical/emotional/social needs. I also have one 10 month old baby girl of my own. I genuinely love working with children, and find that as much as I try to teach them, and help them discover new things, it is usually they who teach me. I am easy going, hardworking, and easy to get along with. I am very confident in my ability to care for children and create a safe/educational and supportive space for them. I enjoy doing crafts/cooking/playing games/ reading, depending on the parents comfort level I also love taking them for walks, trips to the park or other small day trips when possible. I am happy to offer advice or ideas/suggestions, and to proactively come up with solutions to problems, but following and adhering to the rules and procedures and schedules that you have for your children and home are my main priority. I am currently looking for a position or positions where I can take my daughter with me. (I would have backup childcare for days when she is sick or has appointments). I am looking for a minimum of 15 hours a week, all the way up to full time hours. I have a reliable vehicle and am comfortable driving children. I have had background and driving checks run through Sittercity, and would welcome outside background checks if you would so wish.

Nancy P., Child Care in Centerport, NY 11721 with 17 years of paid experience

I'm a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), what they used to call " Baby Nurse ", which is a confusing name since we are not nurses. To be a Newborn Care Specialist is necessary study, pass a test and have a Certificate, which I have, and not all "Baby Nurses" do. I've taken care of babies for 17 years. I've study four years in two Universities in my country of origin, Uruguay, 2 years in Communications and 2 in Psychology (I'm bilingual: English/Spanish). I've been CPR and First Aid certified and I've been over three updates through these years. My NEWBORN CARE CERTIFICATE is by "Gentle Ventures" training center (approved by the NCSA). I balance entertainment, safety, education and of course, the basic needs of the newborn baby, interaction, attention to detail, observation of their developing personality, taste, moods, preferences, I get to know the newborn to better care for them and they get to know me and trust me, which is so very important to do my job. A Newborn Care Specialist also learns from feeding and sleeping patterns, identifying potential problems and presenting parents with options for a solution. It's also important support sorting through the "real" from the "imaginary" worries about the child, and provide comfort allowing parents to learn more about their newborn child. SOME SKILLS: Soothing techniques, Sleep Training, Colic, Swaddling, Premature Babies, Attending to Breastfeeding Moms, Bottle Feeding, Sanitize Bottles, Tummy-Time, Play Time, First Baths, Start Feeding and Sleeping Schedule for a Healthy Routine and towards sleep overnight by the end of Second or Third Month (Yes, it is possible!!) I use my playlists and I sing by myself to babies often, I don't sing well, but they do love it, it's actually a great tool (and I do have tons of fun doing it:) SOME ITEMS OF INTEREST: I have references, I don't smoke, I don't drive, I don't spend all the time on my cell (no social media), I have all vaccines included Tdap, I'm a citizen, I have no allergies, I keep a log always on paper (no apps for it), I don't own pets, I require an independent baby monitor (with no apps), I don't turn TV on, I don't travel with a newborn baby, I care for NEWBORNS (that is from one day old to the end of fourth month), I live in Stamford CT, I work 24 hours over 5 days and take two days in a row off, or I might work just 12 hours at night depending on your needs... PLEASE CHECK SITTERCITY "AVAILABILITY" WHICH I UPDATE OFTEN.
