Hello my name is Meg! First of all I would like start off with, ever since I was young I’ve always had a huge passion for taking care of children. I have been taking care of children as young as 12. To gain the best experience, my mom suggested I start off as a mothers helper. I did just that! Then as time went on, and I felt more and more confident as well as comfortable I started babysitting with family. I can take care of children with-all ranges of abilities. I work in an agency where I support individuals who have disabilities, so I am open to anything. I have worked at two different day cares though out the years, Nannied a family of 4 for about 6 years, And Nannie’s two young girls. One of the girl was as young as 4 months. While working at the day care centers, I have takin numerous trainings and classes to better my knowledge of children. With all that being said, I feel I am ready to take on another family.

I have always liked to work with children. In my teen years, I worked summers at a Montessori school. I learned many things about learning pace and simple objects to teach a lesson. After that, I worked in a daycare where I was an infant & toddler teacher. After that daycare closed down, I had my own child and stayed home until he was 6 months old. I then worked at our local YMCA as a pre school teacher, and then at a preschool geared toward children with disabilities. I worked with many different children; visually impaired, 1:1 for child with severe Autism, children with Down Syndrome, FAS, and learned many techniques to sooth and help these children to do the activities that the "typically" developing children were doing.  I currently have my Associates in the Arts and am enrolled at Empire State. I will have my Bachelors in Human Services in Dec 2013.  My favorite thing to do is hang out with my amazing six year old son! He has made me a football lover (Patriots!). I also like to read, watch movies, shop, and spending time with family and friends.
