My first love and passion is to care for, teach and bring the best out in each child.  I feel it takes time to study and know each individual's gifts and capability in order to bring the best out in each one.  I am looking for a long term childcare position to assist a family in the upbringing of their child(children) in a setting where my skills and experience would benefit the entire family.  I have some experience with foster parenting and special needs.  I have over 25 years experience working with children of all ages and abilities.  I have my Childhood Development Associate for Early Education and Childhood Development.  I am CPR/First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross and formerly taught Pre-K.  I believe a balanced combination of love, discipline and play brings the best out in a child.  I believe it takes a village to raise a child and I am available to come to your home.

I have been babysitting for about six years now, with an additional year’s experience as a certified childcare worker at a group home and over a year as a youth support specialist. I previously worked as an assistant childcare director prior to my current work in human services. I have completed numerous trainings regarding proper child care, such as strength-based perspectives, trauma informed care, and social and emotional development in early childhood. I have worked with kids of all ages, toddlers to teens, and I have additional experience with babies. Working with those kids allowed me to grow and mature into a compassionate, responsible, patient, and understanding individual. It also allowed for me to gain some experience working with children diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. I am CPR and First Aid certified through the Red Cross. I’ve been working with kids for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I helped my sisters babysit from a young age and eventually began caring for families on my own. I also have experience with infants, having regularly cared for my sister’s 6-month-old for extended periods of time.
