I have babysitting experience with children 8 months-10 years old, and 1 years experience in a child care facility with children 6 weeks-12 years old. I also completed student teaching for my degree, with kids 3-5 years where I developed and implemented lesson plans! I really enjoy working with kids, and prioritize their safety as well as supporting them in all areas of their development! I'm registered with the Oregon Central Background Registry. Hello parents! I am seeking regular nannying or occasional sitter jobs. I just moved to downtown Durango yesterday from Oregon to live with my sister, her husband, and my 22-month-old nephew. I am 22 and a professional dancer, taking some time away from full-time dance this fall through the New Year. I have been teaching and caring for kids since I was a kid myself. The past two years, I nannied for two separate families while I was dancing in Spain, as well as tutoring English and Spanish. I taught ballet to kids of all ages and worked as a teaching assistant at my bilingual elementary school while still in high school. My schedule and mind are open and eager, and even more flexible if my nephew can tag along on the days he isn't at daycare. I love caring for children because I am in love with how they see the world and their own unique points of view. I love to put on shows, read, build with Legos, go on neighborhood scavenger hunts, and make crafts. Let's have some fun together!

I like kids! They are creative and fun. I am very aware that they can be a pain sometimes, but I have learned some techniques to handle them. This last summer (2023) I have been working at the Museum of the Rockies (MOR) as a summer camp instructor. I just finished week 7. The 8th and final week begins next Monday. Throughout the summer I was involved with kids grades 1-8 (6-14 years of age although I am pretty sure there were a couple 5 year olds). Group sizes have been between 10 and 17. There was almost always two adults watching kids at all times. I could handle more all 17 kids for short periods of time, but it was a lot. 5 or less kids was pretty manageable for me by myself. We did lots of games, crafts, and a handful of lessons throughout the summer. I love education. Whether it is kids or adults I love teaching others about subjects I am passionate about. When I am not working, I volunteer at the MOR doing the dino cart. I got my bachelor's degree at MSU just last May (2023). My major was Earth Science-Paleontology. I also got a minor in English-writing. I love to write and read. I am a big science fiction nerd. I love presenting science to others in a way they can understand. I love being outside in nature and i don't mind getting my hands dirty so long as I can clean up afterwards. I also don't mind sitting around watching a kid friendly movie, or just relaxing. I love board games and card games as well. I am also fairly patient, but not too afraid to put my foot down. I am also not a picky eater. I am also an Eagle Scout. I went from being a cub scout being taught by older scouts and adults to being the older scout and adult who taught. Our troop held a day camp for cub scouts during the summer. I did babysit someone who was somewhere between the age of 6-9 once. It was fun. I was in middle school or high school at the time.

I've watched kids aged from infants up into upper elementary school. I'm CPR/First Aid trained as well. I've been babysitting/nannying for about 6 years now, and its always been my first passion as not only a job, but something I really love doing. I am very caring, compassionate and patient, and with 2 younger siblings it comes naturally at this point.

I have worked as a summer camp Naturalist and educator for the past 4 summer seasons, and got to be a nanny to a sweet three year old last winter! I love being a sitter because I get to give the much deserved focus to my client, opposed to the summer camp setting where there is always more going on. It is also so exciting to be able to create activities that suit 1-2 children, and it can be so rewarding to see how fast things can be learned/absorbed. I have up to date CPR/first aid certifications, and am confident with the use and applications of those skills-- safety is always my number one priority.
