Hi there! I am Abby (she/her). This June, I will be graduating from Washington State University Vancouver with my Master’s in Teaching. I graduated from the University of Washington in June 2024. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Communities, and Organizations with Disability Studies and American Indian Studies minors. I have been caring for children for 6 years as a babysitter and as the oldest sibling, as well as supervising children in summer camp and school settings. I have found success in building relationships with these children through discussing triggers, what the child enjoys, and boundaries with parents before we start working together. I am also passionate about working with children with disabilities in the school setting. I am currently a substitute, often filling in as a paraprofessional. From September 2023 to May 2024 I held an internship as a substitute paraprofessional in the Seattle Public School system, regularly working at Concord International Elementary School. I don’t believe that you are paying me to watch your children watch television, so I try to make sure we are always doing some sort of activity. I have tutored children in many subjects and if your kids are school-aged, their homework is a priority of mine.   I speak Spanish at a conversational level and am always up for teaching kids some basic Spanish while I am with them.
