In 10 years as a nanny in Portland, I have worked with some wonderful families. I thrive in an environment where I have the empowerment and freedom to keep to a schedule while leaving things flexible to accommodate changes. I value safety, kindness and fun. Time outdoors or at cultural events are always time well spent and time at home should be filled with joy and snacks! I have a BS from Smith College in Psychology and a minor in Developmental Education. My experience includes foster parenting, substitute teaching K-12; student teaching, teaching crafts to kids through Catholic Charities, as well as teaching adults. You will find me to be mature, open to suggestion, punctual, transparent, with good boundaries, and open communication. I am also silly, crafty, patient, open, kind, and fun - so I’m told by adults and kids alike.

I am a mother and grandmother. My professional experience includes providing doula care for over 12 years. I received my certification as an early childhood education specialist in the States of Iowa and Kansas. I was also a licensed home daycare provider in Kansas. I would like to find a family with a young child/ren in need of a loving, nurturing nanny. I enjoy creating supportive learning environments for children wherever we may be, whether that is in a chair with a book, on the floor with toys, in the kitchen, garden, at the library or parks. I am a low screen-time provider, but value their limited use. I am fine with meal preparation and light house keeping which come with child care. In my role as nanny, I give support and relief to parents by providing exceptional care for your child/ren so you can focus on work. As a result, your time as a family will be more calm and enjoyable.

It would be hard to overstate how much our family recommends Margaret. Run…don’t walk to hire her. It will easily be one of the best decisions you will make for you and your family. This charming, intelligent, caring human is one of the most genuine and naturally nurturing people we have ever come into contact with. On day one of caring for our infant, Margaret became a source of stability in our home and continued to surpass our expectations each day through the 2 years she cared for our daughter. Her education and experience alone set her apart from other nannies but it’s also clear she has a calling and passion for children - and that showed up in the work ethic, creativity, and energy she brought to our home every day. We couldn’t have picked a better person to help raise our daughter if we tried. Our family is better off for having known her and been in her care.

I’m a sophomore at Santa Clara University, and I’ve enjoyed working with kids of different ages over the past few years. I’ve nannied for a one-year-old and a middle school boy, and I also tutored elementary school students back in high school. I’m dependable, patient, and love creating a fun, engaging environment for kids of all ages. I’m happy to help with schoolwork, routines, or just keeping kids engaged throughout the day. I’d love to connect with a family looking for steady, caring help.

Hello! I absolutely love children of all ages. In high school and college, I baby sat children from a few weeks old to 12 years. I have worked with a lot of multiple-children families and am comfortable with multi-tasking. I love active play as well as doing art projects and baking with the children that I am caring for. I don’t believe that you are paying me to watch your children watch television, so I try to make sure we are always doing some sort of activity. I have tutored children in many subjects and if your kids are school-aged, their homework is a priority of mine. I speak Spanish at a conversational level and am always up for teaching kids some basic Spanish while I am with them. I also can sign ASL. If you need help with any housework (such as laundry or prep-cooking, etc.), I would love to assist with that while the children are sleeping or engaged in another project. I look forward to meeting your family!

Kenzie took care of our 10 and 7 year old daughters while we were at a wedding couple of weeks ago. We were in town from Seattle and stayed at a hotel. The girls loved her. She's fun, energetic and has an awesome senses of humor. The day was long and she managed to entertain them with a swim in the hotel pool and outing to a local pizza restaurant. We got home and the kids were fast asleep. No messing around with bed times! I'm bummed that Kenzie is in Portland and we're in Seattle. We would be thrilled to have her as a regular sitter. I can't recommend Kenzie enough.

Hi! I'm Danika, I'm 24 years old and I love working with kids! i have a 2 year old baby girl at home, but i'm no stranger to childcare! There is a chance i will have to bring my daughter along, due to childcare issues but she's super well behaved & loves to play! I had a younger sibling that I grew up watching and taking care of. I've had three + years of childcare experience, as well as volunteering in a special education classroom for high school and elementary. I also worked in the nursery at my church when I was younger. I am a paraeducator for special education preschool as well! I'm super outgoing and all about fun and hard work! I have a lot of patience when it comes to kids, always putting them first.

Danika was great with the kids. We felt very comfortable with her. She was also flexible with a slight shift in our schedule. She communicated well and kept us informed throughout the night when we asked. We will be contacting Danika for our babysitting needs in the future.

Hi! My name is Grace. I’m a nursing student at the University of Portland with a big heart for kids and a big dream of working in a children’s hospital after I graduated. Being a sitter means so much more to me than just a job I truly love spending time with children. I have years of babysitting experience with kids 4-15. I’m patient, nurturing, and love creating a fun, calm environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. Whether it’s helping with homework, playing pretend, or winding down at bedtime, I’m always happy to be there for them and support your family in any way I can.

We were lucky to have you babysit our son Jackson. You were reliable, patient, and great with him. He really enjoyed spending time with you and still talks about you since you left for college. We truly appreciated having you and would recommend you to any family.

Helping children grow and develop life skills has always been a passion of mine. My previous babysitting experiences solidified my desire to positively impact young lives, which is why I've dedicated the last five years to special education. I have a college degree and experience caring for children aged 0-12+, including those with complex needs, developmental needs, and disabilities. I'm comfortable caring for up to two children and enjoy playing outdoor sports, board games, puzzles, and educational games. I'm patient, calm, and happy to follow your lead when it comes to household rules and your preferred communication style. I also have First Aid Training and CPR Training. I have a car and I'm comfortable with pets. I look forward to meeting your family and creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for your children.

I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy working with children and being someone they feel safe, comfortable, and happy around. I find it rewarding to support their growth, creativity, and daily routines while giving parents peace of mind. Building trust with both children and families is something I take pride in, and I enjoy creating a positive, fun, and structured environment. I have hands-on experience caring for children through babysitting, volunteer work, and my time as a camp counselor for the VOCA (Victims of Child Abuse) program at Camp Kuaawanlong for two years. In these roles, I was responsible for supervising children, organizing activities, ensuring safety, and providing emotional support. I also have experience managing different age groups and adapting to each child’s individual needs. I have strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills, which help me connect well with children and parents. I am dependable, attentive, and safety-focused, with experience maintaining routines, preparing simple meals, and handling daily care tasks. My background in childcare, combined with my ongoing education in healthcare as a nursing student, has strengthened my sense of responsibility, awareness, and compassion when caring for others.
