Hello my name is Shannon, I'm 39 and have been babysitting for a very long time. I started at the bottom and worked my way up I was recently with a family for 6 years however they had to let me go right now due to the COVID-19. so I'm on the search because I need a job. I'm a very Kind, caring and honest person. Reliable and responsible, I have great references. I was CPR certified for 2 years but I juts need to get it updated. I have worked with all ages, and I also worked with a child with Autism and loved every moment, a disability doesn't matter to me. I have my own vehicle. I'm very patient/ understanding/ calm. I communicate well with the kids/ as well as the parents. I am always letting the parents know what is happening through-out the day when I'm with their kids. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'm a honest person. Looking for something Monday-Friday, or unless it's like full time within 3-4 days like if you work at a hospital or something. I will occassionally do Weekend help as long as you let me know ahead of time. In the summer time I bascailly would take the kids to parks/ or swim with them. I also dont mind doing light house keeping. I can be flexiable, and as I said Im very easy going so easy to get a long with. I'm very soft-spoken/ loving, I hate raising my voice, however I can be firm if needed, and if parents want me to be. I follow the rules what any parents give. Sometimes a parent likes to leave me notes with ideas and or things that need done through the day and thats okay too. Over-all I'm just a fun loving/ Faith filled, caring Nanny. Being a childcare provider is a rewarding experience for me and I strive to provide all the support children need as they grow and develop in all aspects of their lives. From infant to preschool ages providing childcare allows me to be active and keeps me learning, too. I provide gentle and consistent guidance so kids can explore and experience the world safely. There is not one part of a child's life that is more important than another: creating positive social experiences, supporting emotional development, providing age appropriate cognitive challenges, encouraging creativity, and reinforcing self-help skills. That all sounds very formal but all it really means is I encourage (and will join in) all types of play! I take my cues from what your child likes to do. I listen to parents also and work to ensure the child has the consistency he/she needs. My experience in childcare comes from raising my two now grown children (one with special needs), working as a special education paraprofessional for 12 years, and 4 years of childcare in a daycare setting and in private homes. I have a bachelors degree from Penn State and completed some early and elementary education courses. As a paraprofessional I led small group instruction and adapted and implemented lesson plans. I teach Sunday School and provide childcare during church activities. I have current required clearances. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, music, crafts, movies, and some gardening.
