Hi! My name is Rebecca and I recently started my PhD at Carnegie Mellon University. I am hoping to babysit occasionally over the next five years. Throughout high school I volunteered/worked at a preschool/after school summer camp. I worked with kids ranging from infants to middle school. I am skilled in helping with homework, meal prep, housekeeping and I have my own car. CPR and first aid certified.

Growing up in a home that provided foster care to many children, I learned to value from a young age the importance of curiosity, play, teaching at an appropriate level, and the impact of engaged care on developing minds. I have spent time working with children of all ages in paid babysitting/nannying positions since I was 16, as well as counseling kids 5-18 at a summer camp for 10+ years. I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and love to use some of my professional skills with the kiddos I work with. In addition to spending time with children, I love being outdoors (swimming, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing), practicing yoga, traveling, and reading. I am (mostly) fluent in Spanish and have spent many months in Mexico volunteering at an orphanage. Hello! My name is Almira. I am 23 years old and I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Architecture. I come from a big family growing up with 7 other siblings in the household. I'm the oldest daughter of 5 other siblings. Being the oldest daughter came with a lot of responsibilities. Growing up throughout the years I spent those periods being the surrogate parent to my younger siblings, always being on call for my mother 24/7/365. Watching over kids started when I would do little babysitting jobs for my mothers friends, while they worked or went out, and that's when I knew I was good with kids, and loved being around them. I am First Aid and CPR certified, I also took 2 Childhood Development classes in 10th and 11th grade. Life with children can be unpredictable and I know I'm able to adapt to the situations they face.
