Hey there! I’m currently employed at Southside Elementary School as an Afterschool Caretaker for children ages 4 all the way to 11. At work I’m responsible for the safety and fun for 30+ children where I have gained 2 years of very valuable experience. When I’m working I’m an active participant in games, crafts, homework, spelling words, and much more. What sets me apart from others are the background checks I’ve gotten through the state of Tennessee as well as the required CPR certifications, health, and safety trainings I have earned from my time at Southside. Furthermore I’m a current member for a local lab responsible for helping mothers, fathers, and children in hard circumstances. I am currently attending East Tennessee State University, majoring in Elementary Education. I’m originally from Greeneville, Tennessee, where my passion for working with children first began. I’ve played soccer my entire life and was part of the Greeneville High School soccer program, which taught me the value of teamwork, discipline, and leadership—skills I now use every day when working with kids. I especially enjoy being active with children, whether it’s playing games, doing sports, or simply encouraging them to stay moving and engaged. During my junior year of high school, I began working in a local elementary school. That experience helped me quickly learn how to navigate different personalities and situations, and how to meet each child where they are with patience, creativity, and care. My senior year, I began working at the local YMCA in childcare and in the after-school program, which further grew my love for this field. I am CPR certified in both adult and pediatric care, and I’ve completed training in first aid, AED use, choking response for infants and older children, and identifying signs of child abuse. These experiences taught me the importance of safety, attentiveness, and compassion when working with children of all backgrounds. I believe working with children is more than just a job—it’s a calling God has placed on my heart. I truly believe that being a steady, loving presence in a child’s life reflects the love of Christ. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. Caring for others’ children is a joy and a blessing, and I strive to be a light in every environment God places me in.
