Hi! I'm Sidney. I'm a junior at UT, and I'm looking for a chance to spend time with some sweet kids and make some money when I'm not in class. (This means I'll only be able to commit through the end of the semester, and I'll need some flexibility surrounding holidays and breaks.) I've been a babysitter and summer camp counselor on and off for years, and working with kids has always been my favorite job. I actually volunteer at my church VBS every summer because I love working with kids so much. As an experienced camp counselor, I am comfortable caring for multiple kids at once, and I have lots of experience with entertaining and caring for high energy and special needs kids. I've been told by fellow camp counselors and camp supervisors that I'm good at commanding a room, and I know how to get a group of kids to listen while still being viewed as fun and caring. I'm an older sibling, and I've been babysitting/working with kids since middle school, and I've been a summer camp counselor since high school. I have experience tutoring, including kids with learning disabilities/special needs, so I'm always happy to provide homework help. Everyone learns differently, so I love helping children actually understand what they're being taught in school! I'm trained in first aid and CPR, and I have my own car and am comfortable driving with kids. I can cook, clean, do dishes, help with laundry, etc. I'm good with routines, and I'll enforce house rules. I got out of the military when I had my daughter. I was a stay at home mom until my children could attend school, roughly 4 yrs. Worked as a Preschool TA with the Headstart Program. Switched to a Nursery Childcare Provider at a local Daycare so I could be with the babies. I missed being around them. I love seeing a child learn new things and figure out new skills. Especially with babies. It’s amazing to see them learn something for the first time. I can’t help but to get excited for and with them. During my time at the Daycare I worked in the Nursery ( 6 weeks - 10 months), Pre School ( 3 - 5 yr) and Toddler 1 ( roughly 10 months - 15 months). LOVED my job and kiddos! unfortunately I went through a long and nasty divorce. I ended up having to work two different Factory Jobs. In order to achieve a higher income and support my family.
