Hi! My name is Amanda, and I’m 27 years old. I’ve been working with children since my teenage years, and it has always been a true passion of mine. On the other hand, I have a lot of experience playing the waiting game at nap-time, and personally love a quiet parallel playtime as well. Both my First Aid and CPR certifications were completed recently within the last few months, and though I don’t have any true professional experience as a sitter, I’ve spent my whole life alongside children, and babysat for relatives, neighbors, and Sunday schools for years. I have the most experience with younger kids, but I love babies!!!!!!!! I’m a steady learner; teach me once and I can stick to your needed routine while also keeping things new and individual. You can count on me to keep you updated, ask the questions that matter, and operate on your preferred level of communication. During the school year I work full-time as a speech therapy assistant in 4 elementary schools. I have nannied for the past 10 summers and babysit during the school year. Hello. I recently left my job at 28 years. The job started in 1994 with a three-week old baby girl. Twenty eight months later followed by a baby boy. Once the children started middle school the position transitioned to Nanny/Personal Assistant/Household Manger. Throughout the 28 years my job entailed paying bills, organizing the ins and outs of running a main residence along with a second personal property, personal shopping, personal appointments, travel arrangements, cooking, laundry, party planning, and too many other things to list. After being in the Information Technology industry for the past 10 years, I want to get back to what I used to enjoy, before becoming an "adult". My first job was babysitting and I really enjoyed it! I was the oldest girl in my family, there were 5 of us kids in all, and I raised my 3 younger siblings (8, 10, and 12 yrs. younger) as my mother worked nights at Vanderbilt Hospital. I did everything, from getting them ready and walking them to school, to picking them up, helping with homework, cooking dinner and getting them ready for bed. I am at the age where I appreciate the simple things; blowing bubbles, flying kites, going exploring, fishing, etc. and really want to show this generation how much fun and educational our world can be! I have an adult son of my own, who I am extremely proud of, but he has decided not to have children... To me, there is nothing as beautiful as the innocent laughter of a child.
