I attended UNC-Chapel Hill for my BA and Georgetown for my master's​ degree in Russian and Soviet Literature. I grew up in Chicago with a mother who founded a school for art and drama. Growing up in this environment started me on a lifelong love of children and of the arts. I have extensive experience with newborns, toddlers, and middle school children. I also have a son that attends Northwestern University so I have navigated and enjoyed the teenage years as well. Early education is a specialty of mine. It is important that children are exposed to stimulating and thought-provoking stimuli right from the start of life. Another favorite part of my job is connecting children with new friends and watching them foster relationships. Developing strong social skills is every bit as important as intellectual leaning to rewarding life. It starts them on a path of positive relationships which builds Read more their self-esteem and teaches them to communicate even when it is a difficult thing to do. Children who are “in the mix” learn to express themselves in an appropriate and fair manner. In addition to childcare, I enjoy all facets of household management. Any way that I can help a family to have extra quality time together gives me tremendous satisfaction because it fosters close familial relationships. Prior to moving to Nashville, I spent 12 years in Europe. I have been fortunate to have lived in Italy, Luxembourg and London. This experience has made me love other cultures and different cuisines. Some of the activities that I enjoy are going to The Frist, The Adventure Science Center, the Downtownn Library, the Children’s Theater, Farmer’s Market and classes of all kinds. Nashville has so many events, fun activities and learning opportunities that I stay up to date with sites like Eventful and Now Playing and Do615. Soccer is my favorite sport but I enjoy hockey, tennis, golf, and football as well!
