I am a retired elementary school teacher with a dual bachelor's degree in elementary and special education along with a masters in education. I have recently moved to Magnolia to live closer to family. I am interested in utilizing my experience working with children and my strong understanding of the developmental needs of children to support working families with safe and consistent care for their children. Nurturing is in my nature. In addition I've spent the last 18 years as a foster and rescuer for No-Kill shelters and animal rescue organizations in Missouri and Montana. I fostered around 100 cats, kittens and pregnant moms per year providing care, socialization, and bottle feeding orphans. Most recently I volunteered for Crow Wildlife Rehab on Sanibel Island in Florida for 2 years hand-feeding baby birds and injured animals along with round the clock bottle feeding of squirrels, raccoons, and even a few skunks. I share my home with 4 blind cats, a 3-legged sassy cat, and 1 deaf cat who is the resident trouble maker.

I’m 1 of 4 kids and have always loved helping out around the house and with my siblings when I was younger, so it’s something I’ve always enjoyed! We have so many young kids in the family so I’ve been babysitting and helping out for as long as I can remember! My sister had Retts Syndrome, which left her completely bed bound and dependent on someone else, on top of having frequent seizures. My mom did all the work with her for so long and as I got older I began to help her out and learned until I was fully capable of doing everything/anything she needed. This included bathing, changing, feeding her and administering medications. I loved getting to help out and it also gave me an insight into what I wanted my career to be in the future. I’ve been a medical assistant now for over 2 years and have both hospital and clinic experience. I also have experience with autism! I got my certification and worked as a registered behavioral tech in a clinic for a year! I love kids and have experience in so many different aspects of childcare.
