Karla R., Child Care in Fort Monroe, VA 23651 with 14 years of paid experience

Hello parents! 😁 I’m a proud mother of five children, three ladies and two fellas, ages 20 to 27. In 2022, I became a Grammy to each a girl and a boy and another grandson came along in 2024. Twelve years ago, I earned a Master’s degree in Education and have over seven years of teaching experience in public education at both the high school and middle school levels. In my early years of motherhood, I operated in-home daycares for infants to pre-school aged children. I have taught and assisted many times in church Sunday School classes (nursery to high school) and have led and assisted with Vacation Bible School (nursery to high school). I have also led and assisted with youth groups and activities to include attending week-long summer camps and weekend retreats. I’m a divorcee of a retired serviceman. For those military families reviewing my profile, I’m very familiar with life in the military and the challenges that are presented along the journey. Thank you for your dedication and service! Needless to say, I have a genuine love for children of all ages and enjoy teaching and nurturing them; helping each one grow and learn to be the unique person they are created to be. Activities I take pleasure in are walking, reading, crafting, healthy eating, spending time in the kitchen and listening to music (dancing to the music, as well, even if someone is watching!). These are also some of the things I like to do with children, and of course, encouraging them to find and pursue their own interests and participating along with them. Life is certainly meant to be enjoyed, but there are times the fun might need to wait. You can be assured that your children will be accountable for their personal responsibilities (when applicable) like chores and homework (which I’m more than willing to assist), but who says these things can’t be fun? It’s all about perspective and that’s what I hope to instill in your children should you give me the opportunity. I appreciate the time you have taken to review my profile!

Junacie G., Child Care in Fort Monroe, VA 23651 with 5 years of paid experience

My name is Junacie, and I am a U.S. Navy veteran originally from Los Angeles, California. After completing my military service, I chose to follow my passion for working with children, and I have now been a dedicated nanny for over six years. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, which allows me to bring both practical experience and strong developmental knowledge into my work with families. I have experience as a ROTA nanny and would love to continue in a similar role, though I am open to full-time or part-time positions with the right family. I’ve cared for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, including preschool twins, children with special needs, overnight care, and larger groups of children. I am CPR and First Aid certified, bilingual in Spanish, and can provide my résumé, references, and background check upon request. I would describe myself as responsible, creative, and loving. I am especially passionate about supporting developmental milestones in young children through engaging games and Montessori-inspired activities. With older children, I enjoy planning arts and crafts, park outings, beach days, and other age-appropriate adventures. I also support school-aged children with homework, tutoring, and structured learning activities to help them build confidence and succeed academically. I look forward to finding a wonderful family where I can provide nurturing, dependable care in a ROTA, full-time, or part-time role.
