Hello, my name is Meka. Your child can call me MS. MEKA. I use to be a full time Child Care Provider years ago, but due to daily pain I could not do it full time anymore. I still love helping parents out in anyway that I can along with teaching & adding structure. I also know it’s hard to find quality care and people you trust and those who will be an advocate for your child.. (children in general). I am a mother of 3... ages 30, 25 & 23. I have bonus children too…. Also my oldest just had a little precious one(My grand age 3). I was home with them majority of their early childhood & teen years being able to prepare them for school, helping with school work, taking them to their activities, taking them to school, and making sure they completed high school and/ or college...(Honor grad/Cum Laude grad & many meetings/support for my child who has Dyslexia). I do believe “Learning starts at home”. I was a single mom most of that time. There were many times, I had to get 3 kids to 3 different events at the same time, but parents make a way & God will put the right people in your path to help you. Please let me know if I can be any assistance to you or your family. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Also, I am First Aid/CPR Certified & I have a background check through the state!! Along with completed requirements for Water Safety for Parents & Caregivers. Thank you... have a blessed day!

Ms. Meka is truly exceptional. She is not simply a babysitter. She is a childcare and child-development expert, and she brought a level of care, intention, structure, and expertise into our home that exceeded anything we had experienced before. We had recently moved to Norfolk and needed emergency childcare while we waited for a daycare space to open through the CDC network. We felt nervous about having someone we had never met care for our 15-month-old daughter, but Ms. Meka put those concerns to rest almost immediately. Within just a few days, she brought structure, consistency, and purposeful learning into our home in ways we did not even realize we needed. Most importantly, she showed us how much we had underestimated our daughter’s abilities. Through patience, repetition, clear expectations, and age-appropriate structure, Ms. Meka showed us just how much our daughter could understand, communicate, and accomplish. She also taught us how to reinforce those skills ourselves. Our daughter felt comfortable with her right away. Ms. Meka quickly realized that she had previously learned sign language at daycare and helped her pick it back up after we had struggled to continue using it at home. She also taught the signs to us so we could reinforce them as a family. She showed us simple, age-appropriate ways to communicate boundaries, including how to address behaviors like hitting in language our daughter can understand at this stage of development. Those small changes have already made a difference in how we communicate with her. We are also a dual-language household (English/Spanish), and Ms. Meka embraced that from the start. She looked for ways to support strong communication across both languages and made sure our daughter could continue learning and expressing herself in a way that worked for our family. Every day included reading, music, crafts, outdoor play, learning, and meaningful engagement. At the end of each day, Ms. Meka wrote a detailed report about our daughter’s activities, meals, development, and overall day. That level of communication gave us tremendous peace of mind and set a new standard for what we expect from in-home childcare. What stands out most is that Ms. Meka did more than care for our daughter. She made our family better. She taught us how to better understand and communicate with our child, gave us more confidence as parents, and showed us how capable our daughter truly is. The level of care, dedication, and expertise Ms. Meka provides is extraordinary. We could not recommend her more highly.

Hello parents! 😁 I’m a proud mother of five children, three ladies and two fellas, ages 20 to 28. In 2022, I became a Grammy to each a girl and a boy and another grandson came along in 2024. Twelve years ago, I earned a Master’s degree in Education and have over seven years of teaching experience in public education at both the high school and middle school levels. In my early years of motherhood, I operated in-home daycares for infants to pre-school aged children. I have taught and assisted many times in church Sunday School classes (nursery to high school) and have led and assisted with Vacation Bible School (nursery to high school). I have also led and assisted with youth groups and activities to include attending week-long summer camps and weekend retreats. I’m a divorcee of a retired serviceman. For those military families reviewing my profile, I’m very familiar with life in the military and the challenges that are presented along the journey. Thank you for your dedication and service! Needless to say, I have a genuine love for children of all ages and enjoy teaching and nurturing them; helping each one grow and learn to be the unique person they are created to be. Activities I take pleasure in are walking, reading, crafting, healthy eating, spending time in the kitchen and listening to music (dancing to the music, as well, even if someone is watching!). These are also some of the things I like to do with children, and of course, encouraging them to find and pursue their own interests and participating along with them. Life is certainly meant to be enjoyed, but there are times the fun might need to wait. You can be assured that your children will be accountable for their personal responsibilities (when applicable) like chores and homework (which I’m more than willing to assist), but who says these things can’t be fun? It’s all about perspective and that’s what I hope to instill in your children should you give me the opportunity. I appreciate the time you have taken to review my profile!

We adore Karla and have had the best experience with her. I have a 18 month old and Karla has worked for us for almost a year now. She is so sweet with her and i feel like she just understands babies and kids so well. Shes never distracted and is always attentive to Reese, which was something I really was looking for in a nanny. She has been flexible with our schedule and is always reliable. I would recommend her over and over again. She feels like family for us.

I cannot say enough good things about her. Finding someone you truly trust with your children—especially when you have a mix of needs—is not easy, but she has exceeded every expectation I had. She is incredibly attentive, patient, and genuinely caring with all of my children. My neurotypical kids absolutely adore her and constantly rave about how much fun they have when she’s around. My daughters especially love her and are always excited when they know she’s coming, and my toddler son is comfortable and happy in her care. What means the most to me, though, is how she shows up for my autistic daughter. She is calm, understanding, and meets her exactly where she is. There is a level of patience and compassion she brings that you simply cannot teach—and it truly shows in how comfortable and happy my daughter is with her. My autistic daughter is genuinely happy when she’s here, and that peace of mind is everything as a parent. She is reliable, communicative, and brings such a positive, warm energy into our home. I feel completely at ease knowing my children are in her care. She doesn’t just “watch” them—she connects with them, supports them, and creates a safe, happy environment. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your children as if they were her own, she is truly a gem.

Leah was amazing! We had her babysit four kids (ages 4 - 7) and she did a great job, taking care of them, playing games, and keeping them safe. Would definitely hire again and thank you Leah!

I have experience with children through working at a day care, camps, babysitting, a residential treatment center, and working as a teachers assistant in a program called secep who works with children with mental disabilities and behavior problems. I was a certified EMT prior to leaving my job to being put on bed rest due to my pregnancy, and becoming a stay at home mom. I am a stay at home mom of 2 boys... one is 2, and the other is 7. Would love some other littles for my youngens to play with. Pricing varies depending on need. I have 2 recent (within the last year) references upon request.

Hi, my name is Bre! I used to work at a daycare/preschool specializing in ages 6 months-5 years old back in 2021. Since I left, i've been babysitting/nannying at families homes full time since. I have experience with children with autism from ages 3-9, as well as sitting for up to six children at once, and I’m flexible with schedule changes and last minutes! I love kids and even have a little boy of my own now. :) I'm currently looking for a full/part time job with a loving family who is looking for childcare any time of day, weekends, or occasional sitting. I’m in the Hampton, Fox Hill area and would prefer homes on this side of the water, but don’t mind the occasional drive

Breanna is amazing! We had never left our 15 month old with anyone outside of the family, so naturally we were nervous. Breanna made us feel so comfortable and confident that he was in good hands! Our little one clearly adored her and didn’t want her to leave! She’s very responsive and flexible. We will 100% be using her going forward!

Hi! I’m Don’tiyana, but most people call me Yana. I have over 5 years of experience caring for children from infancy through school age, and I genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. I’m comfortable managing day-to-day childcare responsibilities, including meal preparation, diaper changes, nap schedules, homework help, and bedtime routines. I also enjoy creating engaging activities that encourage creativity, learning, and playing. Families often describe me as patient, dependable, and easy to communicate with. I believe in building positive relationships with both children and parents, creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported.
