 I have been working with infants and children for the last 10 years and I also have three children of my own. I have my Associate's degree in Psychology and I am continuing my education in hopes to become an Adolescent Clinical Therapist. I am also CPR and First Aid Certified. I love working with kids on a personal level by learning their personality. I use a hands-on approach to gain the trust of both parent and child. Providing childcare isn't just a job, it's accepting to play a large role in a child's life and help guide them as they grow and develop. I love fun and smiles but I also like to promote educational activities appropriate to the child's age (for example going over the alphabet or doing puzzles with a toddler, or practicing tummy time with an infant!) I strive to become not only their babysitter, but one of their best friends. I have a genuine love and passion for kids and I have realized this is my life's calling. I think that providing childcare would be the best job for me while I am continuing my education because it's doing what I love, working in the direction I plan to go with my career and also allows me to keep my son with me while I work, which gives him the opportunity to interact with other children. I have excellent writing and verbal skills, my specialty is drawing and arts & crafts, skilled hider, below average seeker, animal lover, excellent board game player, excellent story time reader and swing pusher, great at cuddling and I know the tickle monster very well, excellent boo-boo kisser, and I may not be the best singer or dancer but that doesn't stop me from putting on a show. I don't mind embarrassing myself for a laugh (well for the kids at least)! It's so easy to make them smile and I absolutely love doing it.

I absolutely love working with kids and am very good with them. I took a peer mentoring course for 3 years (from when I was 15-18 years old) where I traveled to an elementary school 3 days a week and helped out in a classroom with kids who needed extra attention. I have helped look after family members many times (ages 5 months to 7 years old). I have worked as a nanny for multiple different families over the last 5 years for children of all different ages. I am very alert and aware when watching after kids and never let them out of my sight. I love being a caregiver because kids are so fun to work with and I am still a kid at heart so I love to be active with them. However, I enjoy helping out with things like homework as well and I am very good at it because of my experience with peer mentoring. I studied biology at University of Mary Washington and I graduated with my Bachelor's in 2017. I played varsity softball at UMW as well so I am good at handling many things at once and I believe am very responsible. I also combined my love for softball and working with youth by volunteering at various softball camps for ages 5-15 for several years. I also currently assistant coach for a 14u travel softball team. Like I said, working with kids is something I really love and enjoy and finding employment opportunities where I get to work with them all the time is fantastic!
