Hi my name is Kristie and I am just about 25 years old. I grew up on a farm of many different animals and with a house always full of family and friends! I am part of a family of 7. I have 1 older sister and 3 younger siblings (1 girl and 2 boys). Growing up my mom would always have me and my sister babysit our 3 younger siblings who were much younger a I always had a passion and heart for children. I graduated college with both an associates in Secretarial and a bachelors degree in Office Administration. But part of those years, I studied elementary education and early childhood. The summer of my senior year at college I worked at a summer camp called Wolf Mountain out in California. I had many duties there. One of them was morning daycare for the staff children. it was Read more always me and one other staff member who would take care of and watch 6 children which included infants and toddlers. Growing up my mom would always go places with her friends and I would babysit my siblings and my moms friend’s children. I also worked full time as a babysitter for my cousin’s son who was 3 years old. I would take him to the park, play with him in the dirt outside, make cookies, and just have a good time while also teaching him manners, respect, and other areas of teaching that his mom would normally teach him (and any specific things he’s working on that I would help continue). I worked from 12-11pm 4 days a week and one half day 1 day a week. I would also watch him at my house a lot and we’d play with the animals which was his favorite! I am the type of babysitter where I don’t like to just watch tv all day to make the time go by quicker. Yes, I’ll watch some but mostly I love to go on little adventures, bake something, play games, do crafts, sing songs, color, teach them some colors and numbers to grow their little minds, play tag, etc. If they’re not having a good day and don’t go home with a memory or something fun, then they’re not living as a child. And that for me that is what’s most important. The only thing that is more important then that is safety! That is my absolute #1! I always think ahead and am very attentive to the surroundings.
