Brought to you by Family Concierge: Huntsville Family Seeking Senior Care Companion for their 88-year-old mother. She is living with dementia and recovering from a stroke. She resides in her home in Huntsville, where her family has provided 24/7 care since August 2024. The family is committed to keeping her at home as long as possible. They are looking for care on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9am to 5pm to start on Tuesday, January 6th. They are flexible with the days but prefer 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day!

A little bit about their mother is that she enjoys taking daily walks; she uses an exercise bike and has physical therapy exercises that she needs to do. She uses a walker 100% outside the home and part-time inside the home, typically upon waking, when going to the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. She sometimes communicates with descriptive phrases due to word-finding difficulty, and she is independent with feeding and toileting.

Care to include assisting with morning routine (dressing, light grooming), medication reminders, prepare simple meals (breakfast/lunch), lead light physical activity (guided exercises, walking, stationary exercise bike), and Provide companionship and encourage conversation and light outings. The family is also looking for assistance with light housekeeping (laundry, vacuuming, kitchen upkeep), managing TV remotes and viewing preferences, and providing assistance with artwork and painting setup.

They are looking for a caregiver that is willing to work together and implement direction from the family with two primary contacts. The ideal caregiver has experience assisting with aging individuals, a plus if the caregiver has been a home health aide in the past and has knowledge of basic first aid. Patience, attentiveness, and respect for her independence are essential. The family is offering an hourly rate of $18-$20, based on availability and experience.
