We are looking for a kind, patient, and dependable person to help spend time with my 65-year-old mother, who has mild dementia. She can be pleasantly confused at times, so we are looking for someone who is calm, friendly, and comfortable gently redirecting her when needed.

We are mainly looking for someone to help keep her engaged, safe, and comfortable at home while doing simple activities with her.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing simple meals and snacks
Talking with her and keeping her company
Gently redirecting her when she becomes confused
Helping her turn on the television or find something to watch
Doing coloring pages, simple games, or easy activities together
Going for short walks around the neighborhood
Playing ping pong that’s in the garage or other light activities
Watering plants
Helping organize the grandkids’ playroom
Keeping a calm, positive routine during the day

The ideal person is patient, upbeat, responsible, and enjoys helping others. the most important qualities are kindness, patience, and reliability.
