Location: La Plata, MD
Schedule: As needed (8–16 hours/week, primarily Sundays and some weekdays)
Compensation: $20/hour

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable respite caregiver to assist in caring for my 68-year-old mother, who was diagnosed with dementia and early Alzheimer’s disease approximately 8 years ago. This role is to provide part-time relief for my father, who is her primary caregiver.

Details:

Position is as needed, averaging 8–16 hours per week

Sundays are required, with additional hours during the week as needed

Potential to transition into more hours in the future

Responsibilities include:

Personal care support (hair and nails upkeep, organizing clothing)

Encouragement and assistance with eating and drinking

Engaging in stimulating activities (games, memory exercises, conversation)

Gentle exercise and walking

Running errands/shopping as needed

Providing companionship and emotional encouragement

Ideal Candidate:

Experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s care preferred

Patient, kind, and dependable

Flexible schedule and reliable availability on Sundays
