My mother-in-law was recently discharged from a nursing home following a stay for rehab for a foot injury. My husband and I are looking for someone to provide assistance three days per week (any weekday) on a temporary basis while we make plans to move her closer to us.

My mother-in-law uses a rollator for mobility. She primarily needs help with cooking, housekeeping, and laundry and would also like to have someone nearby when she's in the shower who can call for help in case she falls or re-injures her foot. She may also need someone to do certain shopping errands for her, but my husband and I try to have as many items delivered to her apartment as possible.

The apartment is on the second floor of a building with no elevator, so the only way to get up and down is via stairs. Additionally, my mother-in-law smokes cigarettes. My mother-in-law doesn't have pets but other building residents have pets.
