We are looking for a care companion to be with my mom in our home for a few hours a day approximately 3 days per week while we are working outside of the home. Ideally, if a good relationship is built, we would also like to use this person to stay in our home during an occasional vacation to provide support to my mom while we are out of town. Likely, vacations would be 1-2 times per year. However, the weekly care companion is the priority at this time. My mother has been diagnosed with vascular dementia, but is fairly self sufficient. The need is to provide support for her when she is doing light cooking, laundry, and general day-to-day activities. I think she is more comfortable when she's not home alone as she can get confused easily and needs to ask questions.
