family member has dementia but engages very well in the moment, just does not remember details, functions by herself when people are with her, get very anxious and disoriented when no one is around. should not be left along for long periods of time, needed medication reminder to take, but can take them on her own. needs reminders to eat, if she is hungry. feel free to go out to lunch or coffee & snack, you do not need to stay at home all the time.
