Hi, my mom is 83 years old and in a memory care unit in Cherry Hill New Jersey. She has dementia but she is in the very early stage of the disease. This means that she is unable to live alone and take care of herself, but she is still very much aware of what’s going on around her. She is a bit bored and a little lonely. I am looking for someone to visit her two to three times a week for two hours each time and be a friend/companion. Activities would include playing cards, playing bingo, games, listening to music, doing puzzles, and maybe some art arts and crafts? My sister and I visit her weekly, but it’s not enough social stimulation and there are very few people in her memory care wing that are at her level of dementia. She does not need any help with the activities of daily living or toileting or feeding herself. The facility takes care of that. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a bright personality who can be proactive in finding ways to entertain and be a companion to our mom.
Care Recipient
- Female
- Very receptive to outside help
- Age range: 75 to 84 years old
