My aunt is my grandmother's primary caretaker but my uncle just had a stroke so we are trying to find help so that my aunt can focus on his recovery. My grandmother requires constant supervision for safety/fall risk. She is 98 years old, very hard of hearing and unsteady on her feet/holds on to furniture to assist with ambulating. Often times she does not want to use assist devices such as walker/cane. My aunt has her taking many vitamins and supplements, so she needs encouragement to take them. She sometimes wheezes and we have nebulizer treatments that we try to get her to use. We try to keep her entertained with senior appropriate activities- she loves playing mah-jong, and we attempt puzzles, coloring, helping with simple meal prep. She is currently staying with my parents in Lebanon NJ, but my mother works 4 days a week in the office and needs help for a few hours M-Th.
