We are seeking a warm, reliable companion caregiver for our mom, an active older woman who is independent in her self-care but experiences short-term memory challenges. This job is focused on providing gentle support, organization, and social engagement to enrich her daily life.
Responsibilities
- Drive to errands (shopping, post office, local appointments).
- Help organize her calendar (appointments, caregiver schedule, household supplies).
- Provide reminders to use memory tools (lists, checking supplies before shopping).
- Assist with light dinner preparation or baking (support with recipes and oven use).
- Encourage social activities (walks, light exercise, visiting friends, knitting club, conversation).
- Accompany her to doctor appointments as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting older adults, ideally those with memory challenges.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with local errands and appointments.
- Compassionate, patient, and engaging personality.
