- $35.00 per one way
I am looking for a reliable adult driver/care companion for a high school student (Junior) attending a 3-week summer program at Columbia University. The student almost 16, and is also a competitive athlete who needs weekday transportation to figure skating training at Chelsea Piers Sky Rink.
The job would involve picking the student up from the Columbia University campus area on weekdays and driving to Chelsea Piers Sky Rink. Pickup from campus would usually be around 4:00 PM for a 5:00 PM ice time, or around 4:45 PM for a 5:30 PM ice time. Skating ends at 7:00 PM (firm), and the student would then need to be picked up from the rink and driven back to Columbia University.
The driver must be dependable, punctual, and comfortable communicating with the student, the parent, and program staff (if needed--they would possibly ask about your backround/relation to the student). The person should be willing to either wait nearby or stay within a close radius during the training session (90-120 minutes total) in case the university needs to verify the student’s safety/location.
Requirements: must be 21+; (25+ is preferred, but we will make do) due to program standards.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable car, current insurance, and a clean driving record.
- The driver must also be comfortable with their legal name and phone number being entrusted to Columbia University as the student’s approved/trusted driver for off-campus transportation.
This position is mainly for transportation and safety supervision, not general babysitting. Looking for someone responsible, communicative, and consistent for weekday training transportation during the program!
Care Recipient
- Female
- Very receptive to outside help
- Age range: Under 55 years old
