Care for Dad

I am iseeking an experienced, attentive caregiver to support my father, who is living with advanced Parkinson’s disease. We need someone who is comfortable with higher-level care, can recognize changes in condition, and can provide safe, consistent assistance throughout the day.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Mobility & Fall Prevention: Hands-on assistance with wheelchair transfers, positioning, and safe mobility; monitoring for freezing episodes and fall risk.
• Outings & Engagement: Take him for wheelchair-accessible walks around the neighborhood and accompany him on simple outings such as Starbucks, the library, or local errands—supporting both mobility and quality of life.
• Medication Assistance: Timely reminders and oversight of Parkinson’s medications and other prescribed meds.
• Activities of Daily Living: Help with dressing, bathing, toileting, hygiene, and incontinence care.
• Meals & Hydration: Prepare simple, nutritious meals; monitor hydration; assist with feeding if needed.
• Monitoring Health Changes: Observe and report any concerns—changes in mobility, cognition, swallowing, hydration, or medication side effects.
• Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe environment (laundry, linens, bathroom cleanup, tidying).
• Companionship & Cognitive Support: Provide calm, reassuring interaction; help maintain routines.
Requirements:
• Experience with Parkinson’s, neurodegenerative conditions, or higher-level elder care is required.
• Comfortable with hands-on wheelchair transfers and personal care.
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).

Full time Monday - Friday care required.
