We are seeking a warm, proactive, and compassionate Respite Caregiver to provide support and companionship for our elderly father in Nashville who is managing early-onset dementia. This role is crucial in offering essential relief for his partner while ensuring our father remains engaged and active.

Our father is an engaging gentleman whose favorite pastimes include listening to music (especially on his record player) and watching movies. The ideal candidate will focus on maintaining his quality of life and actively supporting his cognitive abilities through stimulating conversation, games, and engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities: Companionship & Cognitive Engagement: Provide stimulating companionship and actively work to keep his cognitive abilities sharp.

Outings & Transportation: Take our father on supervised outings in and around Nashville (e.g., shopping, errands, parks, doctor's appts).

Favorite Pastimes: Engage with him on his favorite hobbies: setting up and listening to music and watching movies.

Respite Support: Provide scheduled relief and peace of mind for his primary family caregiver.

Compensation: $20 per hour.

Schedule: Approximately 9 hours per week, ideally split into two shifts between Monday and Friday. All shifts must be completed before 4:00 PM (due to late afternoon fatigue).

Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience in elderly care, or as a family member caregiver, preferably with individuals managing dementia or cognitive decline. (Open to a trial run.)

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for outings.

Must genuinely like dogs (we have two small, friendly dogs: a Pomeranian and a Goldendoodle).

Excellent communication skills and a patient, positive demeanor.
