I am a wife and mommy to 2 girls, ages 17 and 14 years old and I absolutely LOVE children. I worked my way through college as a nanny to a family with 2 boys, who were ages 6 and 9 years old when I started. I worked 5 days a week which began around 2pm. I would clean up the morning dishes, make the beds, pick up around the house and start some laundry. I would leave to pick up the boys from school around 2:50, bring them home, serve a snack and help with homework (if needed). Until it was time to take them to Karate (3 days a week), my afternoon duties included caring for the boys, keeping the laundry going, light housework and I would sometimes prepare dinner (depending on what time the dad would be getting home). When I graduated from college, while still working Read more for the 1st family, I took a live-in nanny position for a 4 year old girl and her 7 year old brother. I worked for them in the mornings preparing both children to get on their school buses, then I would clean up the morning dishes and do light housework, shopping, and errands until about 12 noon, when the 4 year old would get home from school. I would serve her lunch, we would have playtime and do some educational activities until it was time to get her brother off of the bus. After snack time, their grandma would come to take over their care so that I could go to my other nanny position. So I was with the first family for 5 years and the second family for 1 year, until I left to get married and move out of state. That is when I began working in an office setting in the various positions that are reflected in my resume. I have devoted the last 13 years of my life primarily to raising and homeschooling my children and to taking care of my husband, who is active duty military. He has been assigned to Fort Wainwright for 3 years and we are brand new arrivals to this area. Now that my children are older, I am ready once again, to take on a job outside of the home, but I would still like to be available to my girls in the afternoons. I have been a volunteer in the Army chapel system over the years working with children and youth, so I have passed the CNACI background investigation. In addition, I have also been First Aid and CPR trained and certified by the American Red Cross.
