Hello families, My name is Ashanti, but I do prefer that the kids I babysit call me Ms. A! I have about 5 years in the childcare business. I originally started out as a caregiver working under Lifeline Academy- a daycare in Atlanta, Georgia; then babysitting for families around my college area. When I moved back to Alabama, I started working on Ft. Rucker's base at the School Aged Academy as an assistant teacher. I worked that position for a few months as a flex where I obtained many certificates pertaining to child abuse and child safety. Last year I was on a 10 month service program with FEMA and I worked with the American Red Cross in Albany, NY educating children about home fire safety. We would assist the kids in drawing their homes on whiteboards and then planning escape routes in the event of a fire. Last but Read more not least, my experience doesn't just stop there. Creatively, as an professional photographer/ videographer I have had to work with newborns and youth during photo shoots in which I believe adds to the experience of working with children; just in a different setting. As you can see, I love kids! So I do hope I get the chance to share some of my experiences with you and your family.
