I feel passionate about the care and rights of babies, boys, and girls. I believe we are each born with our own flavor of innate genius. Young ones need to be supported in discovering their natural interests and abilities, and protected from experiences which disconnect them from their true nature. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2008 and I took the first year of a two-year Waldorf teacher training program in 2020-2021. (I did not continue due to mask mandates.) It is important to me to be fully present with your baby, girl, or boy. I support them in play, exploration, asking questions, etc. Rhythm is important for young ones. They need to know they are safe and free to be their true selves. I work with families who: protect their young ones from screens (staring at screens disconnects them from their creativity and manipulates their values, Read more etc.); encourage time in Nature; and primarily eat nutritious whole foods and minimize sugar. It is important to me to model healthy boundaries and to provide gentle, supportive discipline. I do not use punishment. Boys and girls of all ages need to feel safe and loved at all times. I read a great book called "Unconditional Parenting" by Alfie Kohn, which explains that both punishment and rewards are harmful to boys and girls, teaching them that love is conditional and can be earned or revoked. I love the following activities: Playing outside Exploring nature Playing games (conscious, non-violent) Playing with pets Walks/hikes Art projects Cooking/baking Gardening Reading Listening to and playing wholesome music I am happy to: Help with toilet training (I am learning about something called elimination communication) Do light, healthy cooking Prepare healthy snacks Do light housekeeping Do laundry Do light pet care of generally calm pets Provide transportation for short distances I need to ensure I earn compensation which adequately meets my needs. I use simple written agreements which outline: expectations, compensation, work schedule, what to do when any of us are not feeling well enough to be around each other, holidays, vacations, caring for additional boys or girls or pets, and ending the work agreement.
