Hello! I am seeking a long term Nanny job as I transition out my current career at a special education high school. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Psychology. After graduating I moved up to Massachusetts and held a job at a mentoring organization, The DREAM Program. We held after school programming for kids ages 5 to 18. The summer I worked at DREAM, I directed a 10 kid summer camp, with two interns, for 12 weeks, that ran from 8 AM to 3 PM. While I was working at DREAM, I held a part-time job doing 1:1, in-home, behavioral therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. While doing behavioral therapy, I helped kids ages 5-10 with academics and behavioral challenges. After about a year and a half of holding two jobs, I became a Teaching Assistant at Ivy Street School, a residential school in Brookline. Read more Here, I support a classroom of teenagers with academics, daily living skills like laundry and cooking, and social interactions. After about 9 months I became Lead Teaching Assistant and I have taught multiple levels of academics from middle school to senior level high school. Now here is a little about myself! I enjoy the outdoors a great deal. I just bought a Subaru Forester, so this summer I've been enjoying many hikes, camping trips, and outings with my dog, Morty. I was born and raised in South Florida so I love everything water related. The ocean, lakes, rivers, pools, you name it, I'm swimming in it! I have held a great deal of summer programming so I am practiced in creative art projects, dance parties on a rainy day, and making plain objects become fun and silly. I strive to find a healthy play-work balance. I am currently studying for the GRE and plan to start graduate school for Mental Health Counseling, Fall 2021. I believe I would be a great fit with a family who needs academic help and structure, while also finding value in the outdoors and having fun!
