Hey there! My name is Alex. My hobbies include painting, hiking and backpacking, and training and riding horses. I am currently attending GCU online for a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am passionate about helping kiddos learn and grow in meaningful ways! I have many years of babysitting experience for neighbors and family friends, and also have experience pet-sitting and doing some horse and dog training on the side. My most notable and comprehensive experience is working in the youth behavioral health industry. I am a B.H.T. and a P.A.T.H. Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. This means that I provide therapeutic sessions to children and adolescents with physical, cognitive, mental, and emotional disabilities, using horses as a tool. I have worked at highly-acclaimed youth mental and behavioral health centers in Arizona that support foster children and children who are wards of the state of AZ, and Read more I have volunteered at countless other organizations for this mission. I have provided care for individual therapy sessions and also led group therapy sessions ranging from 2 to 15 clients at a time. I also have experience as a camp counselor specializing in horseback riding, outdoor adventures, and art. I spent time with campers ages 5-17, and also worked at events for children with special needs before and after the summer session.
